Museo Internacional de Arte Contemporaneo/MIAC (Castillo de San José – Avenida de Naos, Arrecife) – located within the 18th century San José Castle (Castillo de San José), this museum (MIAC), which belongs to the Art, Culture and Tourism Centers of the Town Council of Lanzarote, was created thanks to the initiative of local artist César Manrique in 1975.
This museum maintains a line of work centered on contemporary art through shows, workshops and conference projects. It also supports creative production with projects like ArteLanzarote, Encuentro Bienal and Siglo XXI, A New Ethic, which envisions the museum as a space for dialogue about the evolution of culture and its impact on society. Admission: €4.00 (adults), €2.00 (children ages 7-12). Hours: 10:00 am – 8:00 pm (daily).
