Museo del Timple

Museo del Timple
Museo del Timple (Palacio Spinola, Plaza de la Constitucion, Teguise) – originally built during the 18th century, this was once a property of the prominent Spinola family. During the 1980s, it became the official Lanzarote residence of the Canarian government. In 2011, it became the Casa Museo del Timple.
This museum provides tourists and residents alike with a history of the Canarian miniature guitar (timple) and has a large number of these traditional instruments on display. Local musician Benito Cabrera has donated a number of timples from his own private collection to the museum. In addition to a standing exhibition, workshops and cultural activities are occasionally held there. Admission: €3 (adult), €1.50 (children). Hours: 9:00 am – 3:00 pm (Sunday-Friday; closed on Saturday). Visit its website for more info: https://casadeltimple.org
