BUS — for travel between the major resorts and towns on the coast, there is a very efficient, and reasonably priced bus service, with journeys costing just 1-2 euros. That said, service is not very frequent and the journey times are pretty slow. Arrecife Bus (www.arrecifebus.com) is the company that serves the whole island, with a timetable in English. The fare is €2 (plus a minimum recharge of €5). If you are planning on making a lot of journeys, a bus pass (“bono” card), which can be bought from the bus station in Arrecife, gives passengers a 50 per cent discount off the regular fare. The buses themselves are known locally as guaguas.
